"FURVIVAL HORROR"

a vigilante detective working for an agency that takes cases mishandled by police is assigned a particularly difficult case, one that leads her down many paths and leads. but he harbours a secret: she has 9 lives. if he doesnt lose all 9, any lives lost are restored at the beginning of each new year. she uses this to his own advantage to gain an upper hand to gather evidence, clues into someones identity, motives, or methods, or whatever else suits his directive. death, rebirth, and balance, as he tries to make it through the end of the year while uncovering truths about a violent crime.

lorenzo ("zo"). a detective. a very different person during and outside of work. at the agency, he is known for being a determined problem solver with a great work ethic, just a stubborn and unorthodox one. refuses to work with a partner- save for, rarely, her former mentor. typically well respected, and seen as competent. outside of work, however, is very lonely. barely functional, an alcoholic, and is overall just a really sad sight to behold. his ex-wife left her for another man, and then invited her to the wedding. was never quite the same after the divorce.

anabeth. his younger sister, scorned by hateful parents. taken in by zo. generally pleasant, if a little reserved. is trying to balance college on top of her life being suddenly uprooted and moving in with her sister.

edith. an inquisitive yet cowardly journalist. can be a bit fussy and accidentally may come off as a bit snobbish, but her high standards usually only refer to herself. she doesnt really care about what others choose to wear/eat/do with their hair/etc. has a serious and rational facade, but is rather skittish and will often choose flight over fight. despite this, she is dedicated to her craft. encounters zo by chance, it proves more valuable than expected for both parties. girlfriend of oscar.

oscar. a loving but lonely trucker. is afraid of hurting people, but most afraid of being abandoned. boyfriend of edith. overshares a lot, but its mostly on accident. thinks that if he can leave a good impression, he will be able to keep friends. his job makes it difficult to stay connected, but is overall a pleasant fellow. extends a hand to zo when his car breaks down, ends up making a dear friend out of him.

elijah. former mentor of zo, and a close friend even now. not quite a parental figure to her, but more like...an auncle. wants zo to quit the agency, they feel like hes being used and exploited thanks to their "gift". is also, though only through domino effect, the reason her power was even discovered. its an incident they still feel guilty and responsible for. doesnt want to take another pupil- refuses to elaborate why.
