GONER'S GAME

duty calls.

an assortment of young adults, all from the same small town, wake up to a strange voicemail. the message is clear: they must participate in a "game". the winner becomes the ruler of heaven, all else perish and remain in hell. the game is reluctantly run by the current satan: a man named damien. demons, death, and drama, to decide who must take on this heavy burden. with sudden new abilities at their side, only one winner can be chosen.

crane. a headstrong, stubborn, and abrasive man. lives on his own, and works as a petsitter. has a somewhat rocky relationship with his parents. dotes heavily on the people hes closest too, even to a point of being a little overbearing. had a short fling with kenny a few years ago. it never meant to go anywhere, but he kinda still has feelings. not like he would ever admit it, and he chose ted over kenny. things are awkward between the two now, but they still talk regularly. boyfriend of ted.

frederic ("freddy"). a loud, rough man. wasnt always a good person- lived a rough life and had problems with misplaced aggression. hes since gotten a lot of help, and hes in a far better place than he was earlier in his life. hes made amends with people he used to be mean to, even since befriending some of them. feels like he doesnt really deserve it.

haye. a closed off but sensitive woman. moved to town in middle school, now lives with her adoptive parents. struggles to keep friends due to having been manipulated many times in the past. has a semi-popular online persona that she uses as a front to keep herself safe. met one of her now-partners online, and is now slowly trying to herself heal a little. her and freddy have quite a bit of beef and hate each other, but neither really remember why anymore.

isaac. the youngest, and bravest. the little brother of ky, but a relatively normal kid. is currently still going through a teenage rebellious phase, but has always been a pretty self-assured fellow.

iseul ("izzy"). a cheery, ambitious woman. is pretty athletic, and an only child. they are an avid dungeons and dragons player, meeting her two partners from the hobby. isnt quite sure where they want to settle themselves in life- but isnt too worried, either. they know she'll make it work. surprisingly fun at parties.

keanu. the anxious, standoffish sort. their life has been a little on the sheltered side- but their parents were a bit more controlling than most. it wasnt until his mid teens that he was able to pick his own friends. but despite this, they seem to be pretty attached to their parents emotionally. accidentally comes off pretty pretentious and judgemental, but is a lot more lax than expected. comes from a wealthy, influential family.

kenneth ("kenny"). seems to know more than hes letting on. or perhaps, he knows more than even he realizes. still has lingering feelings with crane, but knows they shouldnt keep what they had going. nonetheless, he is incredibly happy and in love with his boyfriend, leo. he knows leo isnt the most well liked guy, but he loves him, so he doesnt care that other people think hes weird or annoying. is a devoted big brother to a young sister.

kyle ("ky"). a loyal friend, but a slacker. has never really liked academic settings. not necessarily unintellectual, hes pretty average in that regard, just finds school settings somewhat miserable. is currently in college, but hates it. ky would do just about anything for his friends, and is very defensive of people he likes. isnt very good at picking his battles.

leo. an anxious, needy man. doesnt always give a good first impression, but isnt a bad guy. is nervous, clingy, and requires a lot of attention. came from a horrible home and was bullied a lot in school. harbours a lot of fear in regards to most of his peers for that very reason. has never really felt at home anywhere. has a secret angry streak. very expressive, and scared of betrayal.

shane. an impulsive, emotional man. neighbour of ky and isaac, has grown incredibly close with ky. the two have had their fights, but they have each others' backs when it counts. seems to be hiding some inner demons that he refuses to talk about. doesnt spend much time at home anymore- usually goes back and forth between ky and wendy's places. he'll take the reason why to his grave.

ted. prone to panic attacks, ted is deeply insecure. he has a love for baking, however. those closest to him can tell when hes at his worst by the amount he has been baking. has some irrational fears, but has taken steps to try to at least control his fear for the sake of trying to be happy. wants domesticity more than anything. thinks with his heart, and not his head.

wendy. a star baseball player, and a down to earth woman. takes things in stride and isnt too worried about much. not a difficult person to get along with, even if she keeps those she dislikes at arms' length. often level-headed, and is the person most people go to when they need an objective look at something. writes mediocre fanfiction in her spare time and absolutely loves it.
